Housekeeper

HOUSEKEEPER / FAMILY ASSISTANT – LIVE-IN OR LIVE-OUT

Location: Newstead Abbey Park, Ravenshead, near Mansfield
Hours: 40 hours per week, including some weekends

We are looking for a reliable, trustworthy and friendly housekeeper/family assistant to help maintain our family home and support with our son’s college travel.

The working week will generally be structured around college drop-off and collection times, with household duties completed between these journeys. Some weekend working will be required by prior arrangement, with appropriate time off during the week. All normal duties will remain within the contracted 40 hours.

Main duties will include:

• Driving our 16-year-old son to and from college
• General household cleaning and tidying
• Laundry, ironing and changing bedding
• Taking clothes to and collecting them from the dry cleaners
• Preparing an occasional simple family meal
• Helping to keep the household clean and organised
• Assisting with occasional errands
• Being comfortable around and kind towards our cats and dog
• Occasional weekend working by agreement

A family car will be provided for college journeys and authorised household errands.

Hours and pay:

Live-in position:

• 40 hours per week
• £12.71 gross per hour
• Approximately £26,436.80 gross per year
• Private furnished accommodation(bedroom and shower room) provided
• Household bills included

Live-out position:

• 40 hours per week
• £14.42 gross per hour
• Approximately £29,993.60 gross per year

The successful applicant must:

• Hold a full, clean UK driving licence
• Be a safe and confident driver
• Be dependable, punctual and well organised
• Have previous housekeeping, cleaning or domestic experience
• Be trustworthy and respectful of the family’s privacy
• Be comfortable around cats and dogs
• Be flexible enough to work some agreed weekends
• Provide suitable employment and character references
• Be willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check

This is intended to be a permanent, long-term position in a friendly and comfortable family home.
