Hours: 9.30am till 4pm

St David Recruitment is delighted to be working on behalf of a historic and elegant hotel to recruit a Housekeeping Assistant for a temporary assignment over the next couple of weeks.

Nestled in the heart of Pembrokeshire, just a short stroll from charming, cobbled streets and the beautiful coastline, this stunning hotel is a popular destination for travellers and visitors throughout the year.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly team in a picturesque setting, helping to maintain the hotel's high standards of cleanliness and presentation, creating an exceptional guest experience.

Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is desirable, but a positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic are essential. If you take pride in delivering excellent standards and are available for an immediate start, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean guest bedrooms and public areas to the highest standards, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and replenishing guest amenities. Clean and sanitise bathrooms, replacing towels and toiletries as required.
  • Transport used linen to the laundry area and restock housekeeping trolleys.
  • Report maintenance issues promptly to ensure they are resolved before affecting guests.
  • Handle lost property in accordance with company procedures.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests.
  • Ensure your uniform is clean, in good repair, and always worn correctly.
  • Familiarise yourself with departmental Standards of Performance and consistently apply them.
  • Develop a good knowledge of the hotel's facilities and services to confidently assist guests.
  • Escalate guest complaints or concerns promptly to your supervisor or Head of Department to ensure timely resolution.
  • Remain security conscious, safeguarding guests, colleagues, and hotel property, and report any suspicious activity immediately.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, managers, and other departments to promote teamwork and a positive working environment.

You will be expected to

  • Complete all required training, both online and in person.
  • Apply the knowledge and skills gained through training in line with company standards.
  • Seek clarification or additional training whenever required.
  • Take ownership of your own continuous learning and professional development.
  • Complying with all company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Completing all mandatory Health & Safety training.
  • Contribute to a safe working environment for guests, colleagues, contractors, and visitors at all times.
  • Following all relevant legislation and hotel procedures, including Health & Safety at Work, COSHH, Fire Safety and Fire Procedures, Manual Handling, Environmental Health, Licensing requirements (where applicable), Any other relevant statutory or company policies.
