Salary: £26,587 per year (Based on 37 hours per week)
Hours: Minimum of 30 to a maximum of 37 hours per week available

What you’ll be doing:
The Housing Assistant, Supported Living will take responsibility for the property maintenance aspects of our housing management function as well as having an input into a variety of low-level tenancy management issues. You will be working with the Housing Officer, Supported Living and will have a joint responsibility for ensuring all housing management duties and responsibilities across the Supported Living Services at met. You will also work in partnership with the support teams in the Supported Living Services and visit tenants in their homes across East and West Sussex.

We welcome applications from candidates with previous experience working with adults with learning disabilities or in roles such as Housing Officer, Supported Housing Assistant, Accommodation Assistant, Tenant Support Officer, Customer Service Advisor, Customer Service Assistant, Teaching Assistant, people with transferable skills looking for a positive change. However, this is not essential and full training will be provided.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience
What you need for the role:
- Customer-focused with excellent communication skills
- Problem solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using a database
- Attention to detail, able to maintain accurate records
- An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which will be paid for by Southdown
- A full driving licence is essential along with access to your own car or a car insured for you for business use.
What would be nice:
- Knowledge of the social housing sector, including health and safety and safeguarding protocols
- An understanding of landlord and tenant rights and responsibilities
- Experience supporting individuals with complex mental health needs
