We are currently recruiting for an experienced Housing Management Officer to join a specialist domestic abuse support service in London on a temporary basis.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support women affected by domestic abuse, ensuring safe, secure, and well-managed accommodation whilst delivering a high-quality housing management service.
The Role
You will be responsible for the day-to-day housing management of supported accommodation, ensuring properties are safe, compliant, and maintained to a high standard whilst supporting residents to sustain their tenancies.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing rent collection, arrears prevention and income recovery
    β€’ Supporting residents with Housing Benefit, Universal Credit and welfare-related applications
    β€’ Completing property inspections, health & safety checks and risk assessments
    β€’ Coordinating repairs, maintenance and void management
    β€’ Issuing occupancy agreements and completing property inductions
    β€’ Liaising with local authorities, registered providers and external partners
    β€’ Maintaining accurate housing management records and performance data
    β€’ Supporting residents with move-on plans and tenancy sustainment
    β€’ Ensuring accommodation remains safe, secure and compliant at all times
    β€’ Working closely with support staff to provide a positive and trauma-informed environment
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone with:
  • Previous housing management experience within supported housing, social housing or domestic abuse services
    β€’ Experience managing rent accounts, arrears and tenancy-related issues
    β€’ Knowledge of welfare benefits, housing benefit and DWP processes
    β€’ Understanding of housing management legislation and pre-action protocols
    β€’ Experience carrying out property inspections and health & safety checks
    β€’ Strong administration, communication and IT skills
    β€’ The ability to work effectively with vulnerable residents and partner agencies
    β€’ Knowledge of domestic abuse and safeguarding principles would be highly advantageous
