Housing Officer (Income)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Housing Officer to join a well-established Housing Association in the Highlands on a temporary basis. Based within the Income Team, this role offers the chance to make a real difference by supporting tenants and helping to sustain successful tenancies across a diverse housing portfolio.This is an immediate requirement, with the assignment expected to run until at least October, with strong potential for extension.

Your new role

• Managing a patch of tenants and providing a high-quality housing management service.
• Supporting tenants with rent accounts and maximising income collection.
• Monitoring rent arrears and taking appropriate action in line with policies and procedures.
• Advising tenants on payment options, benefits, and financial support available.
• Building positive relationships with tenants and delivering excellent customer service.
• Working closely with internal teams and external agencies to sustain tenancies and achieve positive outcomes.
• Maintaining accurate records and case files.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant housing legislation and best practice.

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous experience within a Housing Officer, Income Officer, Tenancy Officer or similar social housing role.
• Experience managing rent arrears, tenancy-related issues, or income recovery caseloads.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
• A customer-focused approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality services.
