We are currently recruiting for an experienced Housing Options Officer to join a busy local authority in Hampshire on an interim basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a homelessness professional with strong housing options experience to support a high-demand service, providing frontline advice and assistance to households at risk of homelessness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality housing options and homelessness prevention advice.
• Assess applications in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
• Manage a varied caseload across prevention, relief, and main housing duty stages.
• Support the triage function, undertaking initial assessments and determining appropriate interventions.
• Work flexibly across the service, floating between teams where required to support demand.
• Develop and implement Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs).
• Liaise with internal departments and external agencies to secure positive outcomes for customers.
• Complete statutory decision-making and maintain accurate case records.

Essential Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a Housing Options or Homelessness team.
• Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation, particularly the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
• Experience managing homelessness applications from initial assessment through to decision.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and support triage services effectively.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and case management skills.
• Experience using housing management and casework systems.
