A local authority in Bedfordshire is looking to appoint an experienced Housing Options Officer to support their busy Prevention & Relief service on an initial 3-month contract.

This role would suit someone comfortable managing homelessness applications from first approach through to decision, whilst working proactively to prevent homelessness wherever possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a caseload of Prevention and Relief duties
  • Conducting homelessness assessments and investigations
  • Producing and progressing Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs)
  • Issuing statutory decisions, including Section 184 notifications
  • Working with applicants, landlords and partner agencies to prevent homelessness

What you'll need:

  • Recent Housing Options experience within a UK local authority
  • Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation
  • Ability to attend the office 3 days per week
