HR ADMINISTRATOR
Location: Bideford, North Devon
Hours: 30-39 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £27,000 - £36,500 per annum, dependent on experience
Whiteland Engineering Ltd is looking for an organised, proactive and people-focused HR Administrator to join our team in Bideford, North Devon.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build or develop a career in Human Resources while working within a well-established and growing engineering business. The role offers a varied workload across HR, payroll, bookkeeping and general business administration.
The Role
We are seeking a motivated individual to support the day-to-day running of our HR and administrative functions. This varied role will play an important part in ensuring our employees and business operations are well supported.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting day-to-day HR administration
- Maintaining accurate employee records and documentation
- Assisting with recruitment and onboarding activities
- Preparing HR paperwork, letters and correspondence
- Supporting holiday, absence and attendance administration
- Responding to employee queries and providing administrative HR support
- Maintaining confidential personnel information with discretion
- Supporting managers with HR-related administration
- Processing weekly and monthly payroll information
- Maintaining payroll records and supporting payroll administration
- Assisting with bookkeeping duties, including purchase invoices, reconciliations and record keeping
- Supporting finance administration and maintaining accurate records
- Ensuring HR processes and records remain organised and up to date
- Assisting with general office and administrative duties as required

- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Proactive, reliable and capable of managing multiple priorities
- Competent using Microsoft Office applications
- Experienced in HR administration, payroll, bookkeeping or general business administration
Previous HR, payroll or bookkeeping experience is desirable but not essential. We welcome applications from candidates with strong administrative skills who are keen to learn and develop within the role.
