Hours: 30 hours per week



About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and experienced HR Advisor to support the delivery of people-focused processes that align with organisational objectives. This is a varied generalist role where you will provide day-to-day HR support, guidance, and expertise across a range of people matters including employee relations, absence management, learning and development, and HR operations.

You will play a key role in ensuring best practice, consistency, and fairness in people management, while contributing to wider strategic HR initiatives.



Key Responsibilities



Generalist HR

  • Provide proactive advice and support to managers on employee relations matters, HR policies, wellbeing, flexible working, and absence management
  • Manage an employee relations caseload, including investigations and hearings, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice
  • Coach and support line managers to ensure consistent and fair application of policies including disciplinaries, grievances, and performance management
  • Monitor and analyse absence trends, supporting managers to effectively manage attendance and wellbeing
  • Provide guidance to employees and managers on pay, terms and conditions, and HR processes
  • Contribute to the development and review of HR policies and procedures
  • Draft HR correspondence including letters, contracts, and reports accurately and within agreed timescales
  • Maintain and update HR systems, ensuring accurate data and reporting for trend analysis


Projects & Development

  • Support strategic HR projects including wellbeing initiatives, employee engagement, and learning and development
  • Assist with change management processes such as restructures, TUPE, and redundancies
  • Keep up to date with employment legislation and ensure compliance in HR practices
  • Design and deliver HR training to upskill managers


Operations & Administration

  • Liaise with payroll providers regarding starters, leavers, and contractual changes
  • Support the coordination and delivery of induction programmes
  • Ensure effective record-keeping and reporting through case management systems


Recruitment Support

  • Provide guidance to the recruitment function to ensure alignment between HR and recruitment processes
  • Support recruitment activities including issuing contracts, pre-employment checks, and onboarding
  • Assist with work experience and volunteer processes


About You

  • CIPD qualified or working towards (desirable)
  • Proven experience in a generalist HR role
  • Strong employee relations experience with the ability to manage complex cases
  • Sound knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience of supporting change initiatives and HR projects (desirable)
