We are now looking for an experienced and proactive HR Advisor to join our HR team in Foston. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident HR professional who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about supporting both employees and managers.
As HR Advisor, you will provide comprehensive HR guidance across employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compliance, benefits, and HR projects. You will play a key role in helping us maintain a positive, fair, and engaging workplace culture.
In this role, you will provide day-to-day HR advice and support to managers and employees across the business. You will advise on HR policies, procedures, employment legislation, terms and conditions, and best practice, ensuring a consistent and professional approach across all people matters.
You will support employee relations cases including grievances, disciplinaries, absence management, capability, performance concerns, and workplace conflicts. This may include conducting investigations, gathering evidence, preparing reports, and making appropriate recommendations.
You will also support recruitment and onboarding activity, including preparing job adverts, posting vacancies, screening applications, arranging interviews, supporting selection processes, and ensuring new starters have a smooth and positive onboarding experience.
Alongside this, you will support the performance management cycle, including probation reviews, objective setting, performance reviews, development planning, and performance improvement plans. You will work with managers to identify learning needs and help coordinate relevant training interventions.
The role will also involve maintaining accurate HR records, preparing HR correspondence and reports, supporting audits and compliance activity, assisting with compensation and benefits administration, and contributing to HR projects that improve employee engagement, retention, wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, and overall HR service delivery.
The successful candidate should have:
- 3+ years’ experience in an HR generalist, advisory, or similar HR role.
- Experience supporting employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability, or performance matters.
- Good working knowledge of HR principles, employment law, and HR best practice.
- Experience using HR systems, preferably UKG or similar HR software.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and HR administration processes.
