HR Advisor (Part-Time)
Location: Essex/Suffolk (multi-site role)
Hours: 32 hours per week (4 days)
Salary: £28,782.40 - £31,000 per annum (equivalent to £35,978 - £38,750 FTE), depending on experience
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Advisor to join a growing HR team within a successful, family-owned multi-site business. This is an exciting opportunity to support managers and employees across a diverse workforce of approximately 300 employees, providing expert HR advice and guidance while helping to drive a positive employee experience.
Working closely with the HR Manager, you will play a key role in delivering a comprehensive HR service, supporting a range of employee relations matters, recruitment activities, policy development, and HR projects.
Key Responsibilities
Provide professional HR advice and guidance to managers and employees, ensuring best practice and compliance with employment legislation.
Manage and support employee relations cases, including:
Investigations
Disciplinaries
Grievances
Absence management
Flexible working requests
Coach and support managers on all aspects of people management in line with business objectives.
Advise managers on sickness absence management, including complex cases, and liaise with Occupational Health providers where required.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment law and support the review and development of company policies and procedures.
Support managers with recruitment activities and selection processes.
Prepare contracts of employment, contract amendments, leaver documentation, and other HR correspondence.
Support the ongoing development and maintenance of the HR system.
Assist with HR projects and initiatives focused on employee engagement, wellbeing, talent attraction, and continuous improvement.
Build strong professional relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent).
A solid understanding of UK employment legislation.
Previous experience in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
Experience managing a high volume of employee relations cases.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
The ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
Experience using HR or time and attendance systems (Employment Hero experience would be advantageous, although training will be provided).
A proactive, positive and solutions-focused approach.
Travel Requirements
This role is primarily based in Tiptree and will require travel across sites in Essex and Suffolk. You will spend approximately one day per week working from other locations on a rotational basis. A full driving licence and access to transport is therefore essential.
Reporting Structure
Reporting directly to the HR Manager.
Working closely with Directors, Senior Managers, Office Teams, and colleagues across the business.
