HR Advisor - Cumbria | Home-Based | FT/PT | 6-Month Temp-Perm

Job Title: HR Advisor

Location: Home-based with travel across Cumbria as required
Contract Length: 6 months (possibility of Temp to Perm based on performance and business needs)

Payrate: £17.95/hr.
Core hours: 37.5-hour working week (Mon-Fri), part-time options of 3 or 4 days per week.

Note: The role is mainly work from home (around 70%), with around 30% travel to schools across Cumbria. Ideally, you'll be based in Cumbria or within 15-20 minutes of the county. flexible working and choosing hours around school runs etc..

Overall Purpose of the Role

To provide professional HR advice and support to clients, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, policies, and procedures. The role involves managing HR casework, building strong client relationships, delivering high-quality customer service, and supporting HR projects and onsite client requirements. We're looking for someone with recent HR/People Advisor experience, ideally with a strong HR generalist background and experience handling employee relations case.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide HR advice and guidance on a range of employee relations matters.
• Support and manage HR casework, investigations, meetings, hearings, and appeals.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with allocated clients.
• Deliver practical HR solutions in line with employment law and best practice.
• Support HR projects, policy development, training, and organisational change initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure high-quality service delivery.

Generic Tasks

• Provide remote HR support via telephone and email.
• Visit clients across Cumbria to support engagement and relationship building.
• Ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency of HR services delivered.
• Support business development and client retention activities.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and professional standards.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to the success of the wider HR team.
