HR Advisor in Stockport, Greater Manchester

Interim HR Advisor | Stockport with Travel | Immediate Start - Temp Role | Flexible Hours Available | Fully Onsite | £40K

Gleeson Recruitment Group is working with a client seeking an experienced HR professional to provide immediate, hands-on support across a number of sites. This is a short-term assignment ideal for an HR Advisor with strong Employee Relations (ER) and performance management experience who can hit the ground running and confidently support managers through a high volume of Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).

The Role

Working closely with managers across the business, you will provide practical HR guidance to help address underperformance, ensure processes are followed consistently and progress cases efficiently.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting managers with a high volume of sales-related PIPs.
• Advising managers on identifying underperformance, setting SMART objectives and developing structured improvement plans.
• Ensuring appropriate documentation, record-keeping and case notes are maintained throughout the process.
• Providing general Employee Relations advice and guidance.
• Supporting workplace investigations where required.
• Working independently to provide confident, practical advice with minimal supervision.

About You

You will be an experienced HR professional with demonstrable, hands-on experience managing performance issues and guiding managers through formal PIP processes. You will be confident advising stakeholders, managing competing priorities and ensuring cases progress effectively.

You will ideally have:

• Strong Employee Relations and performance management experience.
• Proven experience supporting managers through PIPs, from setting objectives through to documenting progress and outcomes.
• The confidence to challenge and coach managers where necessary.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• A proactive, pragmatic approach and the ability to make an immediate impact.

Location & Working Arrangements

The role will ideally involve travel between Stockport, Macclesfield and Whitefield, with reasonable travel expenses or mileage reimbursed. Candidates unable to travel between sites will also be considered for a Stockport-based assignment.

Two working patterns are available:

• Option 1: Monday to Friday, 10am-4pm (30 hours per week).
• Option 2: Monday to Thursday, 9am-5pm (32 hours per week).
