Imperial Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with William Hackett to recruit a People Advisor to join their Alnwick site, supporting the Lifting business.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an HR generalist to play a key role in delivering William Hackett's "Great People" strategy — the driving force behind the group's wider business strategy. You'll manage HR administration for the Lifting business and act as a trusted point of contact for day-to-day people matters, working closely with the People Advisor for the Chains business to ensure HR policies and practices are applied fairly and consistently across the site.

The Role

  • Review policy and process adoption to ensure compliance, including right to work and return to work processes
  • Create and manage people files, contracts, and letters relating to employee changes
  • Support business-wide people communications, including updates, the group newsletter, and Town Halls
  • Take responsibility for recruitment administration, both internal and external, supporting the interview process
  • Lead the onboarding process, including new starter system set-up, induction planning, and early starter interviews
  • Support a consistent, positive offboarding process
  • Support the Group's Learning & Development approach, including training logistics and record-keeping
  • Support delivery of the employee engagement survey, including planning and follow-up
  • Support community engagement activities, including delivery of the annual plan with education and charity partners
  • Deliver training to help managers develop their people management skills and stay current on policy and legislative changes
  • Manage the relationship with the third-party HR systems provider
  • Coordinate people changes with the payroll team
  • Lead on wider Group people initiatives as required

About You

  • A demonstrable background in HR administration and employee lifecycle support
  • Comfortable moving between general HR administration and employee relations, providing initial support and guidance to employees
  • Strong attention to detail, with the accuracy and organisation to manage multiple priorities
  • Confident building strong working relationships across functions and locations — collaborative, credible, and equally comfortable working independently
  • Able to handle sensitive situations with empathy, discretion, and professionalism
  • CIPD Level 3 qualified (or working towards it), with a working knowledge of HR processes, policies, and basic UK employment law]
