Telford – Office based

8.30am – 5pm Monday to Friday
Salary – £27,000 - £28,000 depending on experience
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR and Payroll Coordinator to join a well-established organisation operating within a regulated and safeguarding-focused environment.
This role will support the day-to-day delivery of HR and payroll services, working closely with senior leadership to ensure a professional, responsive and efficient people function. The successful candidate will have a strong background in HR administration, recruitment, payroll support and HR systems, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activities, from advertising vacancies through to interview arrangements.
- Support candidate communications and deliver a positive recruitment experience.
- Manage onboarding processes, including employment checks, contracts and induction arrangements.
- Ensure compliance with safer recruitment and safeguarding requirements.
HR Administration
- Process employee lifecycle changes, including starters, leavers and contract amendments.
- Prepare contracts, letters and employment-related documentation.
- Serve as a first point of contact for HR queries, escalating matters where appropriate.
- Support absence management administration and routine employee relations casework.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
HR Systems & Reporting
- Support the administration and maintenance of HR and payroll systems.
- Provide guidance to system users and assist with troubleshooting.
- Produce workforce reports and management information.
- Contribute to training materials, user guides and process documentation.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of employee data.
Payroll Support
- Assist with monthly payroll processing; this will not be the full process, but more likely adding new starter information, or updating payroll if any additions or deductions need to be made.
- Validate payroll information against contracts and authorised documentation.
- Ensure employee changes are processed accurately and within required timescales.
- Support the preparation and submission of payroll-related data.
Compliance & General Duties
- Support HR projects, policy updates and people initiatives.
- Work in accordance with employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Maintain awareness of changes in employment law and sector requirements.
- Uphold confidentiality and data protection standards at all times.
- Support safeguarding, health and safety, equality and compliance obligations.
About You
- Ideally a minimum 2-3 years' experience in an HR environment.
- CIPD Level 3 qualification, with progression towards CIPD Level 5.
- Experience using integrated HR and payroll systems.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
- Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Professional communication skills and the ability to handle confidential information sensitively.
