As our workforce has expanded, we have recognised the need for a dedicated HR professional to lead and develop our people function, support our managers, and ensure we continue to provide a positive and compliant employee experience.

We are now seeking an experienced and proactive HR & Recruitment Manager to take ownership of the HR function and play a key role in supporting operational excellence and organisational growth.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Directors, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of HR and recruitment across the business. You will act as the primary advisor on employee relations matters, oversee recruitment and onboarding, ensure compliance with employment legislation, and provide managers with practical and commercially focused HR guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the full employee lifecycle from recruitment through to exit.
  • Manage recruitment campaigns, candidate selection, offers, references, and onboarding processes.
  • Coordinate new starter requirements including contracts, induction plans, equipment, system access, uniforms, mobile phones, vehicles, and employment documentation.
  • Advise and support managers on disciplinary, grievance, investigation, capability, attendance, conduct, and performance matters.
  • Manage absence reporting, return-to-work processes, and attendance monitoring.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with employment legislation and company policies.
  • Review and update HR policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Produce HR reports and people metrics for senior leadership.
  • Support workforce planning, retention initiatives, and continuous improvement projects.

About You

We are looking for an experienced HR professional who can operate confidently and independently while building strong relationships across the organisation.

Essential Requirements

  • CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in an HR Manager, HR Business Partner, or Senior HR Advisor role.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience managing complex employee relations cases.
  • Experience overseeing recruitment and onboarding processes.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of the HR function.

Desirable

  • CIPD Level 7 qualification.
  • Experience within an SME environment.
  • Experience supporting a workforce of 100+ employees.
  • Experience implementing HR processes, systems, or reporting improvements.
