HR Business Partner - fixed term in Leominster, Herefordshire

HR Business Partner (12-18months)

We're looking for an experienced HR professional to join the team, giving both strategic and hands-on HR support to managers and employees. You'll mix business partnering with employee relations, recruitment, policy development and day-to-day HR operations, helping to build an engaged, compliant and high-performing workforce. It's a varied role where you'll work closely with managers and senior leaders, and your advice will really shape the business.

What you can expect:

• Salary: £45,000 per annum
• Working hours: 40 hours, Monday to Friday
• North Herefordshire
• Hybrid – up to 2 days per week working from home
• Duration: 12-18months fixed term contract
• 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
• The chance to contribute to strategic HR projects and the wider HR agenda

What you will be doing:

• Partner with managers and leaders to deliver people strategies that support business goals
• Advise on employee relations, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence, probation and performance issues
• Lead recruitment and onboarding, as well as workforce and succession planning
• Review, develop and implement HR policies and procedures to keep the business compliant
• Support organisational change, restructures and consultations
• Analyse people data to spot trends and recommend ways to improve engagement and retention
• Coach managers on people management, employment law and company policy
• Coordinate training, talent management and career development
• Support employee engagement and help drive a positive workplace culture
• Manage HR administration, records and systems, plus HR communications on wellbeing, benefits and family-friendly policies
• Support audits, reporting and continuous improvement within HR
• This is not an exhaustive job description, and additional duties may be required

What we are looking for:

• Proven generalist HR experience, including employee relations casework, recruitment and advising managers (essential)
• CIPD Level 5 or an equivalent HR qualification, or working towards one (essential)
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
• Experience using HR systems, producing people reports and handling confidential information with discretion
• Excellent communication, influencing and conflict resolution skills
• The ability to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day delivery
• Commercial awareness, along with strong organisation and prioritisation skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• A friendly, confident and cooperative approach with plenty of integrity, happy using your initiative and working on your own
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment would be advantageous, although not essential
