Gleeson Recruitment Group are pleased to be supporting a well-established organisation in the appointment of a HR Business Partner to join their People Team. This is a broad, hands-on People Partner role where you'll work closely with managers and colleagues across the organisation, providing trusted advice, coaching and practical solutions across the full employee lifecycle.
The Role
As People Partner, you'll provide a high-quality, solutions-focused People service, supporting managers across a range of employee relations and people matters. You'll take ownership of an ER caseload, providing advice and coaching on areas including disciplinary, capability, grievance, sickness absence and organisational change.
You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to wider People initiatives, including policy and process development, wellbeing, engagement and diversity, alongside supporting projects and delivering training and presentations.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing a varied ER caseload and coaching managers through complex people issues.
- Providing advice and support around disciplinary, capability, grievance and attendance matters.
- Supporting managers through organisational change.
- Developing and reviewing People policies, processes and standards in line with legislation and best practice.
- Working with Occupational Health and supporting long-term absence cases.
- Producing and analysing People metrics and reports to support informed decision-making.
- Supporting mediation and facilitated conversations where required.
- Contributing to People strategy and wider People team improvements.
- Supporting wellbeing, engagement and diversity initiatives.
- Delivering training, presentations and elements of corporate induction.
- Undertaking People-related projects and supporting recruitment activity when required.
About You
We're looking for an experienced generalist HR professional who is confident operating at People Advisor/People Partner level, with strong experience across employee relations.
You'll ideally be CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent and have a strong understanding of current employment legislation, HR best practice and its practical application.
You'll need demonstrable experience across areas such as conduct, capability, sickness absence, grievance and change management, together with the confidence to coach and influence managers through sometimes challenging situations.
You'll be a strong communicator who can quickly establish credibility, build effective relationships and take a coaching-led approach to resolving people issues. Strong analytical skills are also important, with the ability to interpret People data, identify trends and turn insight into practical recommendations. Experience of developing HR policies and processes, delivering training, mediation/facilitated conversations and working with HR systems would also be beneficial.
