The best people strategies do more than support a business, they give leaders the insight, capability and confidence to make better decisions. As an HR Business Partner, you’ll have the influence to shape the HR agenda within an established manufacturing and engineering environment. 

Reporting to the EMEA HR Director, you’ll combine strategic input with hands-on operational responsibility, becoming a key member of the UK leadership team. You’ll also work alongside a global centre of excellence, partnering with talent, HRIS and total reward, with the opportunity for your remit to expand into Europe as the position evolves.

Your responsibilities as HR Business Partner
  • Turn the wider people strategy into practical operational plans aligned with long-term business objectives  
  • Partner with managers and senior stakeholders on complex employee relations, resourcing, talent and organisational matters  
  • Use workforce data and management information to support proactive decision-making, workforce planning and recruitment needs  
  • Keep policies and practices aligned with UK employment legislation while strengthening compliance, controls and risk management  
  • Support organisational change, succession, leadership development, inclusion, wellbeing, restructuring and cultural development programmes  
  • Collaborate with wider EMEA centres of excellence on reward, learning and development, coaching and other business-wide initiatives  
  • Drive ongoing workforce planning to forecast talent and recruitment needs
  • Working with business leaders to ensure competitive compensation and reward initiatives are considered
  • Proactively identifying and supporting HR compliance and controls and mitigating risk
What we’re looking for in a HR Business Partner
  • Level 7 CIPD qualification or equivalent, with senior generalist HR experience ideally gained within manufacturing, FMCG or engineering  
  • Strong knowledge and practical application of UK employment law, including managing complex employee relations cases  
  • Experience of workforce planning, succession, talent planning and implementing strategic organisational change  
  • Strategic thinking and experience of implementing HR change projects
  • Strong HRIS and workforce data capability with excellent attention to detail; Workday experience would be highly advantageous  
  • Effective senior stakeholder coaching, communication and presentation skills, with French or another European language advantageous but not essential
  • Occasional travel will be required.
