HR Generalist

Artis HR are supporting an organisation in Yeovil looking for an HR Generalist to join their team on a 12-month FTC. This is a genuinely broad HR position, with the opportunity to get involved in everything from employee relations and absence through to recruitment, payroll, compliance, employee engagement and HR strategy.
You won't be limited to one area of HR. You'll have real ownership across a varied workload and will work closely with People Managers, employees and the wider HR team.
What will you be doing?
-Managing an ER caseload, providing practical advice and guidance to People Managers and keeping the Head of HR updated on key cases.
-Managing absence in line with business targets, including working closely with Occupational Health on long-term absence.
-Leading disciplinary and grievance investigations and hearings, as well as supporting Performance Improvement Plans.
-Providing advice on HR policies and employment legislation and ensuring policies remain up to date.
-Leading HR meetings including probation reviews, flexible working requests and maternity meetings.
-Supporting employee engagement initiatives and employee surveys, turning feedback into practical action plans.
-Supporting HR audit and compliance activity, including ethical and customer-related audits.
-Supporting payroll processes and benefits administration.
-Working alongside recruitment agencies and supporting advertising, interview coordination, offer administration and right-to-work checks.
-Acting as a super user for the HR system and supporting the wider HR team when required.
-Contributing to HR strategy, business objectives and wider culture initiatives.
What are we looking for?
We're looking for an HR Generalist or HR professional who enjoys being hands-on and is comfortable managing a varied workload across the employee lifecycle.
You'll ideally have:
-Previous experience in an HR Generalist, HR Advisor or similar broad HR position.
-Strong employee relations experience, including disciplinary and grievance processes.
-Experience managing absence and advising managers on HR matters.
-A good understanding of employment legislation.
-Experience across a range of HR activities, ideally including recruitment, payroll, employee engagement and HR administration.
-Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
-Strong organisation and time management skills.
-A practical, proactive approach and the confidence to work independently.

-£25,420 - £45,000
