HR Manager Responsibilities

This position will involve, but will not be limited to:

  • Leading the development and delivery of HR strategies aligned with school goals to foster a positive staff environment.
  • Ensuring compliance with UK employment law and safeguarding best practices across all HR operations.
  • Advising senior leadership, teaching and support staff on complex people management issues, providing clear guidance.
  • Reviewing and streamlining HR processes and procedures, especially relating to the HRIS, to improve efficiency.
  • Managing employee relations, including recruitment, onboarding, and staff well-being initiatives.
  • Overseeing performance management, professional development, and staff retention strategies.
  • Promoting inclusion, diversity, and staff wellbeing to support a supportive school culture.

HR Manager Rewards

Salary between £42,500 and £47,500 depending on experience.

HR Manager Experience Essentials

CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent.

Significant experience leading HR in a service-focused environment.

Deep knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice and safeguarding knowledge.

Proven ability advising senior leaders on complex HR issues.

Experience with HRIS systems, process improvements, and data management.

Strong organisational, communication, and judgment skills.

Location

The role is based in a beautiful, leafy area in Oxfordshire, with excellent transport links, including good road access and on-site parking facilities. The position is fully office-based during onboardinga and training, with the option to work one day from home once settled into the role.
