Your responsibilities as HR Manager
- Provide day-to-day professional people advice, guiding managers through employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, investigations, absence and performance
- Support recruitment, selection and onboarding while ensuring processes reflect business requirements, company values and right-to-work obligations
- Maintain accurate employee records, visa information and compliance documentation across Sage People and associated files
- Work alongside an external consultant to maintain contracts, policies and the staff handbook in line with UK employment legislation and best practice
- Lead the rollout of a new people platform, digitising documentation and developing more effective internal processes
- Support senior leaders with development initiatives and wider projects covering engagement, wellbeing, benchmarking, job descriptions and recruitment
What we’re looking for in a HR Manager
- CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent practical experience, supported by evidence of continued professional development
- Demonstrable employee relations expertise and experience supporting managers through complex workplace matters and organisational change
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law, HR best practice and Right to Work compliance
- Previous exposure to an FMCG, manufacturing or production environment involving shift-based work is highly desirable
- Strong written communication and report-writing skills, with experience handling sensitive matters and maintaining accurate employee records
