HSE Advisor in Suffolk

Our client, currently delivering an HVDC Interconnector on the South coast as part of a long term project, now requires a site-based HSE Advisor for the duration of the project from initial site surveys through to completion. 

This contract is outside IR35 and expected to last until around 2030.
 
The Role
 
The Health & Safety Advisor is responsible for supporting the effective implementation of the Construction Phase Plan and Project Safety Culture Plan and ensuring health and safety requirements are consistently applied throughout construction activities.
Working under the direction of the Project HSES Manager, the role provides site-based health and safety support through inspections, RAMS reviews, Permit to Work and Temporary Works assurance, incident management and practical advice to construction teams and the supply chain.
The Health & Safety Advisor plays a key role in ensuring that the Construction Phase Plan, Risk Management Arrangements and Control of Work, Permit to Work and Temporary Works controls are effectively implemented across the onshore scope of works.
Through proactive workforce engagement, monitoring of safety performance and timely escalation of health and safety issues, the role supports the successful delivery of the HVDC Cables Project whilst protecting the workforce and promoting a positive, continually improving safety culture.
 
The Person
 
NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum)
NEBOSH Construction Certificate (preferred)
NCRQ / NVQ equivalent (where applicable)
Internal Auditor training
CDM awareness
Temporary Works awareness
Incident Investigation training
Behavioural Safety experience
Infrastructure / Construction experience
Experience working under CDM 2015 Principal Contractor arrangements.
