HSE Advisor – Onshore

Location: Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria
Job Type: 4 Days Onsite, 1 Day from Home, 2-Year PAYE Contract
Salary: £275 per day

Are you an experienced HSE Advisor looking for your next opportunity within the energy, oil & gas or industrial sector?

We are working with a major energy client who are looking for an experienced and proactive HSE Advisor to join their Health, Safety & Environment team based in Barrow-in-Furness.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an HSE Advisor to play an important role in supporting onshore operations, promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.

The Role

As HSE Advisor, you will provide day-to-day HSE support and guidance across the business, working closely with operational teams, contractors and internal stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing day-to-day HSE advice, guidance and support to operational teams
  • Promoting a positive and proactive safety culture
  • Ensuring compliance with UK health, safety and environmental legislation
  • Supporting risk assessments, audits and inspections
  • Assisting with incident investigations and identifying corrective actions
  • Supporting the development and implementation of HSE policies and procedures
  • Delivering HSE training, coaching and guidance where required
  • Monitoring HSE performance and supporting continuous improvement
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders and contractors to maintain high HSE standards
  • Supporting wider HSE initiatives and activities as required

About You

We're looking for someone who is experienced, proactive and confident providing HSE advice within a busy operational environment.

The successful HSE Advisor will ideally have previous experience working within the energy, oil & gas, petrochemical, manufacturing or heavy industrial sectors.

You'll also have:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent as a minimum
  • Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation
  • Experience carrying out audits, inspections and incident investigations
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • A proactive approach to health, safety and environmental standards

Working Arrangements

The role is based in Barrow-in-Furness with a hybrid working arrangement.

  • 4 days per week in the office
  • Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are mandatory office days
  • The fourth office day can be either Monday or Friday
  • Full-time office working is also available if preferred

  • Rate: £275 per day
  • PAYE contract only
