HSE Advisor – Onshore
Location: Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria
Job Type: 4 Days Onsite, 1 Day from Home, 2-Year PAYE Contract
Salary: £275 per day
Are you an experienced HSE Advisor looking for your next opportunity within the energy, oil & gas or industrial sector?
We are working with a major energy client who are looking for an experienced and proactive HSE Advisor to join their Health, Safety & Environment team based in Barrow-in-Furness.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an HSE Advisor to play an important role in supporting onshore operations, promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
The Role
As HSE Advisor, you will provide day-to-day HSE support and guidance across the business, working closely with operational teams, contractors and internal stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing day-to-day HSE advice, guidance and support to operational teams
- Promoting a positive and proactive safety culture
- Ensuring compliance with UK health, safety and environmental legislation
- Supporting risk assessments, audits and inspections
- Assisting with incident investigations and identifying corrective actions
- Supporting the development and implementation of HSE policies and procedures
- Delivering HSE training, coaching and guidance where required
- Monitoring HSE performance and supporting continuous improvement
- Liaising with internal stakeholders and contractors to maintain high HSE standards
- Supporting wider HSE initiatives and activities as required
About You
We're looking for someone who is experienced, proactive and confident providing HSE advice within a busy operational environment.
The successful HSE Advisor will ideally have previous experience working within the energy, oil & gas, petrochemical, manufacturing or heavy industrial sectors.
You'll also have:
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent as a minimum
- Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation
- Experience carrying out audits, inspections and incident investigations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- A proactive approach to health, safety and environmental standards
Working Arrangements
The role is based in Barrow-in-Furness with a hybrid working arrangement.
- 4 days per week in the office
- Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are mandatory office days
- The fourth office day can be either Monday or Friday
- Full-time office working is also available if preferred
