As the HSE Advisor in the Manufacturing and Production sector, you'll play a key role in ensuring a safe working environment at the Leyland site. Your day-to-day will involve supporting health, safety, and environmental compliance to help the business operate efficiently and safely.

Description

As the HSE Advisor you will be tasked with the following;

* Walk all sites and on a regular basis shadow field based teams to identify potential safety risks, challenge unsafe practices and ensure standards are consistently applied across teams

* Create Health & Safety related reports and communicate accordingly both internally and externally when required.

* Attend daily operational meetings and feedback any Health & Safety related topics.

* Ensure all contractors on site are suitably inducted and compliant with the company Health & Safety procedures.

* Undertake all accident investigations, DSE assessments and review near miss incidents, lead a root cause analysis and define practical corrective actions ensuring all actions are fully implemented to drive continuous safety improvements

* Support the assessment of a machine, reviewing manufacturer documentation to understand residual risks and how they are managed on site

* Analyse H&S data and reports to identify trends, recurring issues or emerging risks, and define improvement actions

* Work with teams to ensure DSEAR-related risks are properly understood and translated into practical controls in daily operations

* Ensuring that defined COSHH control measures are clearly understood and consistently applied by operators in daily activities

* Prepare and communicate H&S performance updates, translating data into clear insights and actions for the wider business.

* Attend daily "shift handover" meetings and communicate outstanding H&S topics to the production management and operatives.

* Ensure all new employees to the business receive the appropriate Health and Safety induction.

* Work closely with the local authorities to ensure compliant with legislation, communicate potential breeches effectively and timely.

* Lead safety roles during emergency H&S situations e.g. fire drills or first aid responses

Profile

A successful HSE Advisor should have:

* Experience in Health & Safety within a manufacturing or industrial environment

* Good understanding of machinery safety, including interpretation of residual risks

* Familiarity with DSEAR regulations and their practical application

* Experience in data reporting and analysis within a H&S context

* Formal Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH) or equivalent experience

* Knowledge and experience in ISO45001 & ISO14001.

* Basic Experience in handling Chemicals

Job Offer

  • Salary ranging from £38,000 to £42,000, dependent on the level of experience.
  • Onsite Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
