An established manufacturing business is looking for an HSE Advisor to support the continued development of Health, Safety and Environmental standards across its operations.
This is a broad, hands-on HSE Advisor role for someone who enjoys being visible on the shop floor, speaking with people and turning good HSE systems into practical working standards. There is plenty to improve, making this a strong opportunity for someone who wants to influence how safety is managed rather than simply maintain an established system.

Company Overview
This is an established manufacturing organisation with a large operational site and a range of manufacturing processes.
The business is looking to strengthen its HSE culture, improve its management systems and create better communication between HSE and employees across the shop floor.
Role Overview
The HSE Advisor will provide day-to-day support across Health, Safety and Environmental activities.
The role needs someone who can balance documentation and compliance with practical shop-floor engagement. A key part of the position will be building relationships, running toolbox talks and helping employees understand why HSE systems and standards matter.
Key Responsibilities As a HSE Advisor

Carry out workplace inspections, internal audits and compliance checks

Complete and review risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work

Support COSHH assessments and the safe use of machinery, equipment and hazardous substances

Assist with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems

Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses and follow through corrective actions

Deliver toolbox talks, inductions and refresher training

Work closely with Safety Representatives and operational teams

Maintain HSE records, reports and compliance documentation

Support environmental activities including waste, emissions and energy reporting

Assist with emergency procedures, fire safety and evacuation drills

Provide cover for the SHEF Manager when required
Requirements

NEBOSH General Certificate
-
Around 2–3 years' experience within Health & Safety
-
Manufacturing or engineering experience is preferred, although other operational environments will be considered

Exposure to ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001
-
Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with shop-floor teams
-
A practical, proactive approach to Health & Safety

Internal Auditor qualification would be advantageous
Candidates who have previously worked in operational, maintenance or manufacturing roles before moving into Health & Safety would also be particularly relevant.
