HSE Co-ordinator

We are recruiting for an HSE Co-ordinator to support the effective management, monitoring and continuous improvement of Health, Safety and Environmental standards across an established engineering business.

Reporting directly to the Group HSE Manager, this is a hands-on role where you will work closely with operational teams, managers, supervisors, employees and contractors to promote a positive safety culture and ensure high standards of legal and regulatory compliance.

As HSE Co-ordinator, you will provide day-to-day HSE support across the site, helping to ensure that safe systems of work are maintained and that health, safety and environmental requirements are effectively implemented.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the completion, review and maintenance of Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessments and PUWER Assessments
• Conducting workplace HSE inspections and audits
• Supporting the implementation and monitoring of corrective actions
• Providing practical Health & Safety advice and guidance to managers, supervisors and employees
• Assisting with accident, incident and near-miss investigations, including identifying root causes and corrective actions
• Maintaining accurate HSE records, documentation and databases
• Supporting the company's Integrated Management System (IMS) and continuous improvement activities
• Delivering and coordinating HSE inductions for employees, contractors and visitors
• Supporting the delivery of toolbox talks, safety briefings and HSE awareness campaigns
• Supporting environmental and occupational health monitoring activities
• Assisting with HSE performance reporting, statistics and compliance requirements
• Working closely with Quality, Engineering and Operations teams to achieve HSE objectives
• Promoting positive safety behaviours and a proactive health and safety culture

We are looking for an HSE professional with experience working within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment.

You will ideally have:

• NEBOSH General Certificate – qualified or currently working towards
• IOSH Managing Safely
• Previous experience in a Health & Safety, HSE or EHS role
• Experience undertaking risk assessments and workplace inspections
• Knowledge of COSHH, PUWER and safe systems of work
• Experience supporting accident and incident investigations
• Experience delivering HSE inductions, toolbox talks or safety briefings
• A good understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good organisational and administrative ability
• Excellent attention to detail
• A proactive, practical approach to problem solving
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
