Are you an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental professional looking for your next challenge within food manufacturing?
Due to continued growth and investment, we are seeking an experienced HSE Manager to join a well-established food production business. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in driving health, safety and environmental standards across a fast-paced manufacturing operation.
The Role
As HSE Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing the site's health, safety and environmental strategy, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation while promoting a positive safety culture throughout the business.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading all health, safety and environmental activities across the site.
Ensuring compliance with current HSE legislation and food manufacturing standards.
Managing and developing the site's HSE policies and procedures.
Conducting risk assessments, audits and site inspections.
Leading accident, incident and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Driving behavioural safety initiatives and promoting a proactive safety culture.
Managing environmental compliance, permits and sustainability initiatives.
Delivering HSE training and toolbox talks to employees across the business.
Liaising with regulatory bodies and external auditors.
Providing regular HSE reports and KPI analysis to senior management.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Previous experience in a Health, Safety & Environmental position within food manufacturing or FMCG.
NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
Strong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation.
Experience working with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
Experience with BRCGS and food manufacturing standards would be advantageous.
Proven experience driving cultural change and continuous improvement initiatives.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong leadership abilities with the capability to influence at all levels of the business.
