A specialist power infrastructure organisation is delivering electrical network solutions across the full asset lifecycle, including development, construction and operations. Operating within the utilities and energy sector, the business places strong emphasis on safe, responsible delivery and the effective management of technical, environmental and operational risk. With a clear focus on care, compliance and continuous improvement, the organisation is seeking to strengthen its senior HSE leadership capability. 

The Role

The HSE Manager will provide strategic leadership and professional oversight of health, safety and environmental management across the business. Acting as the organisation’s senior HSE authority, the successful candidate will ensure a proportionate, risk-based HSE management system is embedded across development, construction and operational activities. They will lead HSE strategy, governance, assurance, contractor oversight, incident management and executive reporting, whilst supporting a proactive culture of ownership, intervention and care. This is a highly visible role, working closely with senior leaders and technical teams to ensure HSE risks are understood, controlled and continuously improved.

Experience Required

• Significant HSE leadership experience within the IDNO, DNO, utilities, power infrastructure or wider energy sector.
• Strong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation, including CDM Regulations, HV electrical safety and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Experience leading HSE management systems, governance frameworks, assurance programmes and risk-based compliance activity across development, construction and operations.
• Proven ability to provide strategic contractor and project HSE oversight, including RAMS review, Construction Phase Plan compliance, site monitoring and incident investigation.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, with Chartered IOSH status or evidence of working towards it, alongside the credibility to influence at Executive and Board level.
