We're looking for an experienced Health, Safety, Environmental & Regulatory Manager to take a leading role in protecting our people, our environment and our business.
This is more than a compliance role. You'll be a visible and influential leader, working with managers, employees, contractors and external stakeholders to build a strong safety culture while enabling the business to operate efficiently and responsibly.
What you'll do
• Lead and develop the company's HSE strategy, policies and management systems.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Lead audits, inspections, incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Drive corrective actions, continuous improvement and behavioural safety.
• Provide practical HSE advice, coaching and training across the business.
• Manage accident, incident and near-miss reporting, including RIDDOR requirements.
• Oversee hazardous substances, CoSHH, contractor controls and regulatory records.
• Develop KPIs, manage the HSE budget and identify opportunities to improve performance.
• Work closely with leadership to ensure safety, quality and operational excellence go hand in hand.
What we're looking for
You'll be a credible, pragmatic HSE professional who can influence rather than simply enforce. You'll have the confidence to challenge unsafe practices, the judgement to find practical solutions and the resilience to maintain high standards under pressure.
You'll ideally have:
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years' manufacturing experience, ideally within chemical manufacturing.
• Strong experience in behavioural safety, investigations, root-cause analysis and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with quality/document management systems.
• Excellent communication, influencing and leadership skills.
• Process Safety Management and change-management experience would be advantageous.
