HSE Manager in Watford, Hertfordshire

An established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is looking for an experienced HSE Manager to join their team in Watford, Hertfordshire.

Responsibilities for HSE Manager:

• Provide consistent and accurate HSE advice to HSE Advisors and site teams across the region
• Line manage and mentor HSE Advisors, supporting their professional development
• Conduct regular site visits, detailed monthly HSE inspections, and audits
• Lead and support accident and incident investigations, identifying root causes and producing reports within required timeframes
• Produce and communicate HSE alerts and monthly regional HSE statistics, identifying trends and driving improvements
• Attend client HSE forums and form collaborative relationships with client HSE management
• Deliver awareness training and lead site standdowns
• Support facilities management at regional company premises on HSE related matters
• Promote occupational health and wellbeing across the region

Essential Requirements for HSE Manager:

• NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum
• CSCS Safety Professional Card
• Extensive HSE experience within a civil engineering environment
• Strong incident investigation, report writing, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Able to work independently and as part of a team to tight deadlines

Desirable:

• IOSH or CEnv qualification
• Working towards NEBOSH Diploma Level 6
• Level 3 AET or PTLLS
• Kelvin TOPSET or equivalent incident investigation training
• Experience in the rail sector
