Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be partnering with a well-established manufacturing business in Sheffield to recruit an experienced HSE Officer.

The business operates within a specialist manufacturing environment and is looking for a proactive HSE professional to take ownership of health, safety and environmental activities across the site.
This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with managers and employees to continuously improve HSE performance, deliver training and drive best practice across the site.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and develop Health & Safety and Environmental policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with current legislation.
- Carry out and review risk assessments including COSHH, PUWER, LOLER and Fire Risk Assessments.
- Conduct accident and incident investigations, implementing corrective actions and reporting monthly HSE KPIs.
- Organise and chair monthly Health & Safety Committee meetings.
- Complete routine workplace inspections, audits and housekeeping assessments.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling activities, ensuring accurate environmental records are maintained.
- Coordinate statutory inspections including lifting equipment, pressure systems, electrical testing, asbestos, noise monitoring, Legionella and racking inspections.
- Deliver HSE training including inductions, manual handling, COSHH, DSE, fire safety, first aid and toolbox talks.
- Maintain training records and coordinate external training and occupational health screening.
- Support contractors and external auditors during site visits.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen the site's safety culture.
We're looking for an organised, self-motivated individual who enjoys building relationships and influencing positive change within a manufacturing environment.
You will ideally have:
- Previous Health, Safety & Environmental experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- A NEBOSH Certificate, IOSH qualification or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively.
- Strong IT skills with experience using HSE systems; experience of digitising or automating HSE documentation would be advantageous.
- A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
