We are working with a well-respected secondary school in Colchester, rated GOOD by Ofsted, which is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join its successful department. The school is committed to delivering engaging and high-quality humanities education, encouraging students to think critically, explore different perspectives and achieve their full potential across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Job Overview:
- Teach Humanities across KS3 and KS4, including subjects such as History, Geography and Religious Studies (depending on your specialism and experience).
- Plan and deliver engaging, creative and differentiated lessons that inspire a love of learning.
- Assess, monitor and track student progress, ensuring all learners are supported and challenged appropriately.
- Foster a positive, inclusive and respectful classroom environment where students can thrive.
- Work collaboratively with the Humanities department and wider school team to deliver an ambitious curriculum.
- Contribute to enrichment activities, curriculum development and whole-school initiatives.
What we're looking for:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in History, Geography, Religious Studies or another relevant Humanities subject.
- Experience teaching Humanities at secondary level across KS3 and KS4.
- A passion for inspiring young people and delivering engaging lessons.
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
- A positive, proactive and collaborative approach to teaching and learning.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
