Humanities Teacher – September 2026
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join a welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Kingston upon Thames from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for an inspirational teacher who is passionate about Humanities and committed to helping students develop a strong understanding of history, geography and the wider world. Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
The Role
You will:

Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality Humanities lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, teaching subjects such as History, Geography and Religious Education, depending on your specialism and experience.

Inspire students to think critically, explore different perspectives and develop a deeper understanding of global, historical and social issues.

Assess, monitor and support student progress through effective feedback and intervention.

Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that promotes high expectations and excellent behaviour.

Contribute to the wider life of the Humanities department and school community.

Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and continually improve teaching and learning.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant will have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

A degree in History, Geography, Religious Education or a related Humanities subject.

Experience teaching Humanities within a UK secondary school (placements considered for ECTs).

Strong subject knowledge and a passion for delivering engaging lessons.

Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
