Position: Humanities Teacher 

Location: Haringey 

Start date: September 2026 

Smart Teachers is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in North London for a Humanities Teacher (KS3 Only) with General Cover responsibilities to join the school from September.

This is an excellent opportunity for a flexible and engaging teacher who enjoys working with Key Stage 3 students and is confident delivering lessons across Humanities subjects while providing general classroom cover when required. Full planning and resources will be available for Humanities lessons.

• Teach Humanities across Key Stage 3, including History, Geography and/or Religious Education.
• Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that promote curiosity and achievement.
• Provide general cover across the secondary curriculum as required.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning.
• Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to ensure positive outcomes for students.

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Has experience teaching Humanities at Key Stage 3.
• Is adaptable and confident delivering general cover lessons across a range of subjects.
• Demonstrates excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Is committed to safeguarding and supporting the wellbeing of young people.

To be considered for this role, you must:

• Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
• Provide satisfactory references covering the past two years.
• Have the legal right to work in the UK.
