Duties and Responsibilities
- Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging and purposeful Humanities lessons.
- Teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach at Key Stage 5 where required.
- Creating an inclusive and stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity, debate and independent thinking.
- Supporting students to develop strong analytical, critical-thinking and communication skills.
- Differentiating and adapting lessons to meet the needs of pupils with SEND and other additional needs.
- Assessing, marking and providing constructive feedback to support student progress.
- Preparing students effectively for GCSE examinations and supporting strong academic outcomes.
- Developing students’ understanding of historical, geographical, social and cultural issues.
- Working collaboratively within the Humanities department to contribute to the continued success of the faculty.
- Supporting the wider development of students through positive relationships, high expectations and effective classroom management.
- Encouraging students to take pride in their learning and develop the confidence and skills needed for their future education and careers.
- Humanities ECTs or fully qualified Humanities Teachers.
- Experience teaching Humanities within UK secondary school classrooms.
- Strong knowledge of the relevant Humanities curriculum.
- Experience teaching GCSE Humanities subjects, such as History, Geography or Religious Studies.
- A genuine passion for Humanities and the ability to inspire curiosity and a love of learning.
- A calm, professional and engaging classroom presence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong classroom management and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
- Flexibility, reliability and a genuine commitment to supporting student progress.
