We are seeking a passionate, resilient and inspirational Humanities Teacher to join our dedicated team at our specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in MK44.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher who believes that every young person deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of the barriers they have faced. You will teach engaging Humanities lessons (History, Geography and/or Religious Education) while supporting pupils to develop confidence, resilience and positive relationships.

Working with small class sizes and a highly supportive multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to make a genuine difference every day.

The Role

You will:

• Plan and deliver engaging Humanities lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Adapt learning to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEMH and additional SEND.
• Create a safe, structured and nurturing classroom environment.
• Build positive relationships that enable pupils to re-engage with learning.
• Use restorative and trauma-informed approaches to behaviour management.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, pastoral staff and families.
• Track pupil progress and celebrate individual achievements.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school and support enrichment opportunities.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent.
• Has experience teaching Humanities in a secondary setting.
• Has experience of working with pupils with SEMH, SEND or in an alternative provision (desirable but not essential).
• Is resilient, patient and committed to inclusive education.
• Has excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Can motivate and inspire young people who have experienced barriers to learning.
• Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
