Impact and Evaluation Manager

The Impact and Evaluation Manager will build on and shape an evolving charity impact measurement framework.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about building an evidence-based culture, integrating both data-driven insights and qualitative narratives to enhance outcomes for young people.

You will be working for a charity that transforms the lives of care-experienced young people through employment targeted interventions. 

Position: Impact and Evaluation Manager

Location: London Waterloo/Hybrid (2 days in the office for full time and 1 day for part-time staff)

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 FTE, pro rata for part-time hours

Contract: Maternity cover, fixed-term for 12 months, with potential for extension

Hours: Full-time 37.5 hours per week (part-time considered)

About the Role

Your work will capture the effectiveness of the wide-ranging services and strengthen the evidence base that reflects the lived experiences of the young people the organisation supports. Reporting to the Director of Fundraising, Policy, Communications & Impact, you will be part of a dynamic team contributing to sector leadership by benchmarking practices, identifying emerging trends, and strengthening the advocacy work.

As maternity cover, you will build on strong foundations already in place, maintaining momentum across impact and evidence work while bringing your own expertise and ideas to its continued development.

By combining internal evaluation with sector-wide research, you will amplify the voices of care-experienced young people, ensuring their experiences drive meaningful change in the programmes and beyond.

About You

We are looking for someone with proven experience in impact measurement, evaluation, and research, preferably within the charity sector.

You will have:

  • Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods including use of survey software (such as Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey or similar)
  • Proficiency in using Excel to clean, manipulate, and analyse data.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement evaluation frameworks, in collaboration with programme users and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data as actionable insights through engaging reports, infographics, or dashboards.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with GDPR and data protection best practices in research and evaluation.
