Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Import & Export Freight Forwarder to join their Felixstowe team. Import & Export Freight Forwarder - Requirements
  • 5+ years' experience within freight forwarding, shipping, logistics, or supply chain
  • Strong import and export experience, ideally with sea freight
  • Good knowledge of UK and international customs procedures
  • Experience with export declarations, CDS entries, Carnets, and customs documentation
  • Good understanding of Incoterms and international shipping regulations
  • Dangerous Goods awareness
  • Experience using freight management systems; Multi Freight experience would be advantageous
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships with customers, carriers, agents, and suppliers
  • Commercially aware with experience handling quotations, rates, and margins
Import & Export Freight Forwarder - Responsibilities
  • Manage import and export shipments from start to finish across sea, road, air, and multimodal transport
  • Manage key customer accounts and build strong, long-term relationships
  • Coordinate customs documentation, declarations, tariff classifications, and duty requirements
  • Liaise with shipping lines, carriers, overseas agents, and customers to ensure smooth shipment movements
  • Provide guidance on Incoterms, customs requirements, and international shipping regulations
  • Prepare quotations, negotiate rates, and support commercial pricing decisions
  • Resolve shipment delays, exceptions, disputes, and operational issues
  • Maintain accurate shipment and financial records within the freight management system
  • Ensure all shipments are handled efficiently, compliantly, and within agreed service levels
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, customer service, and operational performance
