Import Merchandiser | Consumer Products & Gifting | Leeds | Up to £40,000

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an organised and commercially focused Import Merchandiser to join a growing product-led business.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining merchandising, purchasing and international supply chain, giving you the opportunity to take ownership across the full product journey - from supplier and order management through to international shipping, stock and final delivery.

It's a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data and detail but also wants plenty of variety, responsibility and interaction with suppliers and wider teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor stock levels, sales and product performance, identifying opportunities for replenishment, transfers and range changes.

  • Analyse stock cover and trading information to support purchasing and inventory decisions.

  • Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring orders are accurately maintained from placement through to delivery.

  • Track supplier costs, margins and landed costs, highlighting any changes that may impact profitability.

  • Work closely with overseas suppliers to monitor production progress, lead times and order quantities.

  • Maintain accurate product, pricing, costing, barcode and stock data across internal systems.

  • Develop positive relationships with suppliers and resolve any issues relating to quality, production, pricing or delivery.

  • Coordinate product testing, quality checks and relevant supplier documentation where required.

  • Arrange and monitor international shipments, working closely with freight partners and warehouses.

  • Obtain and review freight quotations, supporting decisions around the most efficient shipping options.

  • Coordinate shipments and deliveries to ensure stock arrives within agreed timescales.

About You

  • Previous experience within merchandising, imports or similar within a wholesale or retail environment.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

  • Confidence working with Excel and data.

  • Strong numerical and analytical ability.

  • Experience managing purchase orders and supplier information.

  • An understanding of international shipping and import processes.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • A proactive approach to problem solving, with the confidence to chase, challenge and find solutions.
