THE BUSINESS
Our client is a growing specialist engineering company that repair, refurbish and test industrial electronic and electrical equipment used across a range of sectors, including manufacturing, energy, process industries, offshore operations and heavy engineering.
The business supports customers where equipment failures can lead to costly downtime, providing specialist repair solutions for both modern and older systems. Their workshop handles a wide variety of equipment, from power electronics and motor control systems through to industrial control equipment.

THE ROLE
• Help diagnose and repair faults on a range of industrial electronic and electrical equipment
• Use diagrams and technical information to understand how equipment works and identify problems
• Use a variety of test and diagnostic equipment to find faults
• Carry out practical soldering and desoldering of electronic components
• Repair and test a range of power supplies, control systems, drives and industrial equipment
• Identify and replace faulty components where required
• Assist with fault-finding on electrical control and automation systems
• Work on a variety of equipment, including older or less familiar systems
• Complete repair records and keep technical information up to date
• Work efficiently to help meet customer deadlines
• Follow all company health, safety and quality procedures
• Work as part of a supportive workshop team and continue to develop your technical skills
THE PERSON
• Some experience or training in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a similar area
• A basic understanding of electrical and electronic principles
• Some knowledge or experience of industrial electrical or electronic equipment would be beneficial
• Comfortable reading basic circuit diagrams and technical information
• Carry out component-level fault finding, and training will be provided to enhance your skills
• Experience using test equipment such as multimeters would be required
• A logical and practical approach to finding and fixing faults
• Good attention to detail and a hands-on attitude
• Willing to work on different types of equipment and learn new skills
• Good communication skills and able to keep clear records
• Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
• Keen to develop their knowledge and experience within an industrial repair environment
• Takes pride in producing good-quality work
