Overview

We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Industrial Operative to join our Boarding Department within a busy manufacturing facility. This role involves working with timber, sheet materials, and pre-fabricated wooden components to support the production of high-quality frames and structures.

This position is ideal for someone who is practical, detail-oriented, and confident using hand and power tools in a workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Measure, cut, and prepare timber and sheet materials using tools such as tape measures, circular saws, and drills
  • Assemble wooden frames, panels, and structural components in line with production drawings and specifications
  • Operate machinery and equipment safely, following all training and site procedures
  • Carry out boarding, cladding, and finishing tasks to required quality standards
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring materials are stored correctly
  • Work efficiently to support production targets and communicate any issues promptly
  • Conduct basic checks on tools and equipment, reporting any defects or maintenance requirements
  • Follow all health & safety procedures, including manual handling and PPE requirements

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, joinery, or workshop environment (desirable)
  • Confident using hand and power tools, including drills and circular saws
  • Ability to read measurements and work accurately to millimetre precision
  • Strong practical skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
  • Physically fit and capable of manual work

Working Hours

  • Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
  • Friday: 8:00am – 3:30pm
