The Opportunity

The Student Recruitment Department is seeking a highly motivated Information Adviser to join the Information, Advice and Guidance Team. You will be responsible for developing and delivering information activities and events for a wide range of audiences including 14–19 year olds, primary and secondary schools, colleges, sixth forms, adults and parents.

You will provide Information, Advice and Guidance relating to all the provision offered by the College, including course information, progression pathways and career options, to both internal and external customers.

You will need to have a flexible approach, excellent communication and presentation skills, good IT skills, and be confident in dealing with both small and large client groups.

You will also have experience working in a customer-focused environment and delivering Information, Advice and Guidance, along with GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above and a Level 4 Information, Advice and Guidance qualification (or be willing to work towards this).

About You

You will have experience of working with a wide range of client groups and delivering high-quality Information, Advice and Guidance. You will be confident presenting to different audiences and able to build and maintain effective relationships with both internal colleagues and external partners.

You will be organised and able to manage your workload effectively, with experience of maintaining accurate records, supporting events and contributing to recruitment activities. A strong customer-focused approach is essential, along with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing.

You will be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, demonstrate flexibility in your approach to work, and show a clear commitment to safeguarding, equality and delivering an excellent service.

Required

NVQ Level 4 Information, Advice and Guidance or related qualification (or a willingness to work towards in a specified time frame).

GCSE English and maths grade C/4 or above

2 year’s work experience in a customer focused environment using a wide range of administrative processes and procedures.

Experience of working with a wide range of client groups offering a comprehensive IAG service (Information, Advice and Guidance).

Experience of recording data producing reports and evaluating impact of activity.

Experience of organising events/activities.

Evidence of building and developing good relationships with colleagues and external partners or organisations
