About the Role
Land & Sea Resources are currently recruiting for an Information & Samples Coordinator to support an established energy organisation based in Barrow-in-Furness.
The Information & Samples Coordinator will act as a key focal point for regulatory compliance relating to subsurface, wells, decommissioning, production and infrastructure data, as well as physical samples and records.
As an Information & Samples Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring Information & Samples obligations are delivered accurately, on time and in accordance with relevant corporate and regulatory requirements, including obligations under the Energy Act 2016 and associated regulations and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
As the Information & Samples Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as a key point of contact with the NSTA Data Compliance team.
- Coordinating and delivering accurate and timely NSTA statutory data submissions.
- Managing Missing Data Requests and Section 34 Notices within required deadlines.
- Coordinating legacy and decommissioning data submission plans.
- Managing the submission of digital data to the National Data Repository (NDR), including seismic, site survey, wellbore and legacy datasets.
- Overseeing the management of physical samples and archives, including retention, transfer and disposal requirements.
- Supporting statutory reporting requirements relating to the British Geological Survey (BGS).
- Producing, maintaining and monitoring Information & Samples Plans (ISP) associated with decommissioning and relinquishment activities.
- Coordinating GIS and mapping requirements.
- Supporting subsurface and wells teams with data availability, accessibility and technical data integration.
- Ensuring appropriate data retention and end-of-life disposal processes are maintained.
- Working closely with Wells, Decommissioning, Legal, IS/IM and UKCS Licensing teams.
- Acting as a central point of contact for Information & Samples coordination and associated data systems.
About You
The successful Information & Samples Coordinator will ideally have:
- Strong experience in subsurface, wells and/or decommissioning data management.
- Experience working with regulatory data and compliance requirements within the energy sector.
- A strong understanding of Information & Samples requirements and relevant Energy Act regulations and guidelines.
- Experience working with NDR submission formats, subsurface/wells data and technical software systems.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience working with regulatory bodies.
- Previous experience working within an energy operator or similar regulated environment.
Qualifications
A degree in Earth Sciences, Computing Science or a related discipline would be advantageous.
Previous experience in an Information & Samples Coordinator, information management, technical data management, subsurface data or regulatory compliance position would also be advantageous.
