Rate: £550-£570 per day (Inside IR35)
Clearance Required: Active SC Clearance & NPPV3

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Infrastructure Architect to join a major business transformation programme focused on delivering a unified target operating model across multiple organisations, systems, and user communities.

This is a high-impact role where you'll define and shape the future infrastructure landscape, ensuring platforms and services are scalable, secure, resilient, and aligned to strategic business objectives. Working within a multidisciplinary transformation team, you'll play a key role in infrastructure consolidation, cloud adoption, and modernisation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the target-state infrastructure architecture and roadmap.
  • Define future infrastructure capabilities across:
    • Cloud platforms
    • Hosting and compute
    • Networking
    • Identity and access management
    • Storage
    • End-user computing
    • Platform services
  • Assess existing infrastructure environments and identify opportunities for consolidation and optimisation.
  • Produce high-level and detailed infrastructure designs.
  • Define infrastructure standards, patterns, and reference architectures.
  • Provide architecture assurance across internal teams, suppliers, and technical partners.
  • Support cloud adoption, migration, and infrastructure modernisation programmes.
  • Promote Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and cloud-native design principles.
  • Ensure solutions meet security, resilience, disaster recovery, and operational requirements.
  • Facilitate architecture workshops and support key technical decision-making.
  • Engage with suppliers and technology partners to ensure alignment with strategic architecture objectives.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as an Infrastructure Architect within complex enterprise environments.
  • Experience delivering architecture on large-scale transformation or organisational change programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud technologies, including:
    • Microsoft Azure
    • AWS
    • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Experience developing migration, transformation, and consolidation roadmaps.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Infrastructure modernisation
    • Platform rationalisation
    • High Availability
    • Disaster Recovery (DR)
    • Business Continuity
  • Experience designing secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure solutions.
  • Ability to balance technical requirements with business outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
