Location - Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, DN16 1XA 

Pattern of Work - 36.5 hours, Monday - Friday 

What you need to know about the role 

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you'll play a key role in shaping and supporting the infrastructure services that underpin the organisation's operations. 

Working across a diverse technology landscape, you'll help deliver secure, reliable and scalable solutions while contributing to the ongoing modernisation and continuous improvement of our technology estate. 

You'll work closely with End User Computing (EUC), Network and Security teams, as well as developers and other IT professionals, helping to ensure technology solutions are aligned, integrated and fit for purpose across the wider business. 

Through collaboration and technical expertise, you'll contribute to the design, implementation and support of resilient infrastructure services that enable operational success. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Administer, maintain and enhance the organisation's Nutanix virtualisation platform and supporting infrastructure services. 

  • Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues, ensuring high levels of service availability and performance. 

  • Manage backup, recovery and disaster recovery solutions, regularly validating resilience and recovery capabilities. 

  • Support the lifecycle management of server, storage and infrastructure platforms, including upgrades, patching and capacity planning. 

  • Develop and maintain automation, standardisation and operational processes to improve the efficiency and reliability of infrastructure services. 

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of infrastructure solutions that align with security, operational and business requirements. 

  • Work collaboratively with EUC, Network, Security and Development teams to support integrated technology services and project delivery. 

  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, standards and operational procedures. 

  • Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues, sharing knowledge and promoting best practices across the IT function. 

  • Participate in infrastructure projects and continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance services and technologies.   

What we need to know about you 

  • Experience administering enterprise server and infrastructure platforms across Windows Server and Red Hat Linux environments. 

  • Experience administering enterprise virtualisation platforms, ideally including Nutanix & VMware 

  • Experience supporting server, storage and compute infrastructure in a high-availability environment. 

  • Experience managing enterprise backup and recovery solutions, ideally using technologies such as NetBackup, Veeam or Commvault. 

  • Strong experience administering Microsoft cloud technologies including Entra ID, Intune and Exchange Online. 

  • Experience managing endpoint deployment, configuration, compliance and lifecycle management across enterprise device estates 

  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking and core infrastructure services. 

  • Experience monitoring, troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure issues within a complex enterprise environment. 

  • Experience developing and maintaining automation solutions using PowerShell.
