Contract Type: 12 Week Temp to Perm
Hourly Rate: £15.46 per hour (Days/Afternoons) | £16.43 per hour (Nights) + Shift Allowance
Rotating 3 Shifts
Shift Pattern (Rotating Weekly)
Monday – Thursday
- 6:00am – 2:00pm
- 2:00pm – 10:00pm
- 10:00pm – 6:00am
Friday
- 6:00am – 1:30pm
- 1:30pm – 9:00pm
- 9:00pm – 4:30am
Overtime is available during busy periods.
The Role
As an Injection Moulding Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting, operating and monitoring injection moulding machines to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. You will carry out tool changes, machine changeovers, troubleshoot process issues, and work closely with the production team to maximise productivity and minimise scrap.
Key Responsibilities of an Injection Moulding Machine Operator
- Setting and operating injection moulding machines.
- Carrying out tool changes and product changeovers.
- Adjusting machine parameters to maintain product quality and optimise cycle times.
- Performing first-off inspections and routine quality checks.
- Monitoring machine performance and resolving minor process issues.
- Completing production paperwork and quality documentation accurately.
- Carrying out routine machine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance.
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area in line with 5S standards.
- Working to production schedules and KPI targets.
- Ensuring compliance with all health & safety procedures and standard operating procedures.
Experience required:
Essential
- Previous experience as an Injection Moulding Setter, Technician or Setter/Operator.
- Experience carrying out tool changes and machine changeovers.
- Ability to adjust machine settings to maintain product quality.
- Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Good understanding of quality standards and inspection procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Flexible to work a rotating three-shift pattern.
Desirable
- Experience working with automated manufacturing equipment or robotic systems.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
- FLT, pallet truck or overhead crane experience.
- Basic mechanical maintenance skills.
