Installations Supervisor – Eccles

Location: Eccles, Greater Manchester
Salary: £35,000 basic plus overtime
Typical earnings: Approximately £45,000 per annum
Travel: Approximately two days working away from home each week
Weekend requirement: Two weekends per month

We are recruiting an Installations Supervisor for a newly created position within a specialist technical installation and logistics operation.

Reporting to the Installation Manager, you will support the day-to-day management of installation teams and help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required customer standards.

This is a hands-on supervisory role combining people management, operational coordination, health and safety, site visits and installation support. You will work away from home for approximately two days each week and must be available to work two weekends per month.

Key responsibilities

• Supporting the Installation Manager with the daily management of installation teams
• Coordinating projects, installation crews, equipment and third-party suppliers
• Reviewing planned deliveries and installations before scheduling
• Ensuring the work planner remains accurate and up to date
• Attending site surveys and project meetings
• Managing installation issues and escalating concerns when appropriate
• Maintaining accurate records and full project traceability
• Monitoring project costs and supporting cost-control measures
• Providing team briefings and operational guidance
• Conducting site audits and installation spot checks
• Identifying non-conformances and implementing corrective actions
• Supporting the cross-training, development and upskilling of installation employees
• Managing performance, conduct, attendance, timesheets and overtime
• Supporting disciplinary and performance-management processes
• Preparing, reviewing and maintaining risk assessments and method statements
• Maintaining health and safety records and ensuring work is completed in line with relevant legislation
• Reviewing customer processes and recommending improvements
• Providing management cover during periods of holiday or sickness
• Assisting with installations when operational demand requires

Requirements

• Previous people-management or team-supervision experience
• Experience supporting disciplinary and performance-management processes
• Experience managing attendance, timesheets and overtime
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills
• Good computer literacy, including Microsoft applications
• Experience coordinating employees, schedules and operational activities
• A practical understanding of mechanical, electrical or technical installations
• Knowledge of risk assessments, method statements and health and safety procedures
• The ability to maintain accurate records and manage project information
• Confidence providing team briefings, coaching and operational guidance
• The ability to identify performance or operational issues and implement corrective action
• A full UK driving licence with no more than three penalty points
• Comfortable working to a fluid and frequently changing schedule
• Willing to work away from home for approximately two days each week
• Available to work two weekends per month
• A flexible, proactive and hands-on management style

Package

• £35,000 basic salary
• Typical annual earnings of approximately £45,000 with overtime
• Hotel accommodation provided when working away, normally in a Premier Inn or Holiday Inn
• £39.90 daily working-away allowance, with no receipts required

This role would suit an experienced Team Leader, Installation Supervisor, Field Supervisor or Operations Supervisor who combines strong people-management skills with a practical and customer-focused approach.
