Instructor Demonstrator – General Engineering

We have an excellent opportunity for an engineering professional to support the delivery of practical workshop sessions in areas including Electronics, Maintenance and Bench Fitting, helping learners develop the skills, knowledge and confidence needed for employment or further study.

Job responsibilities:  

• In this role, you will be responsible for delivering practical instruction and demonstrations to student groups, ensuring they develop essential skills and knowledge in a range of Engineering topics (i.e. Electronics, Maintenance, Bench Fitting etc…).
• You will work closely with course coordinators and lecturers to create a structured schedule of activities and support students in achieving their learning goals. Monitoring student progress, assessing their competence in practical tasks, and maintaining accurate records will be key responsibilities.
• As part of our commitment to student success, you will assist with student reviews, help produce course results, and contribute to creating a caring and supportive learning environment.
• Maintaining professionalism, ensuring student discipline, and promoting attendance and punctuality are vital aspects of the role. Additionally, you will actively participate in staff development activities and continuously seek opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Key requirements:

• Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related discipline
• Recent industrial experience in a relevant engineering field
• Strong practical skills with the ability to demonstrate safe working practices
• Knowledge of current developments within the engineering sector
• Ability to support learners in a practical workshop environment
• Welsh language skills are desirable
