Insurance Account Handler

Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum, depending on experience
Hours: Full-time | Monday to Friday

Are you an experienced Insurance Account Handler who enjoys getting to know your clients, understanding their businesses and finding the right cover for their needs?

We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established, growing independent brokerage looking for an experienced professional to join its commercial insurance team.

You’ll have ownership of your own client portfolio, the support of knowledgeable colleagues and opportunities to develop your career. If you take pride in providing a personal, reliable service and want to join a business where your experience is valued, this could be your next move.

You’ll be a trusted point of contact for your commercial clients, helping them navigate their insurance requirements from initial enquiry through to renewal. Building lasting relationships will be central to your role, alongside keeping policies accurate, deadlines on track and clients well informed.

Day to day, you’ll:

• Manage your own client portfolio, building strong relationships and understanding each business’s insurance needs.
• Handle renewals, mid-term adjustments and new business enquiries, keeping the process straightforward for clients.
• Work closely with insurers to obtain competitive quotations and negotiate suitable terms.
• Provide clear, professional advice on insurance products and cover.
• Prepare and process policy documentation with accuracy and care.
• Respond promptly to telephone and email enquiries, resolving queries efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records in line with FCA and company compliance requirements.
• Support your colleagues and contribute to a friendly, collaborative team.

You’ll have at least five years’ experience as an Insurance Account Handler or in a similar commercial insurance role, along with strong knowledge of commercial insurance products.

Just as importantly, you’ll enjoy working with people. You’ll be confident communicating with clients and insurers, organised in your approach and able to keep on top of competing priorities without overlooking the detail.

Experience using insurance broking systems would be advantageous.
